Our Technicians
Dave Lynch - Owner, Instructor, Master Craftsman, head guitar tech - has honed his skills for over 37 years in guitar performance and music composition. And with over 34 years in guitar repair, construction and modification, Dave has come to be known as the "Guitar Guru of Sacramento." Dave studied woodcraft while at Pittsfield High School, NH, worked for Master Craftsman Ernie Paetsch Cabinets in Utah before moving to California and working with guitar tech, designer and builder, Gary Cooper at Lews Music and Oasis Guitars, Gary's own brand, in the late '70's. Dave attended the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Boston, and is a two-time recipient of the Sacramento Sammie Award in the "Best Jazz Musician" category. He has spent over 40 years mastering the art of the guitar. He frequently performs with his band The Dave Lynch Group in the Sacramento area and has released three CDs, with a fourth in production at his Tool Shed Studio.

Danny Paul - began his guitar repairing career in 2003 under the tutelage of Vince Gates while working for Maytan Music Center in Carson City, NV. He has performed as bassist with Blorgalakt and other groups locally and currently works with the group Journal. Since graduating from the Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery in Phoenix, AZ in 2008, he continues his never-ending education at Guitar Workshop.

Steve Lovas - has been a part of Guitar Workshop since age 13. He studied with Guitar Workshop classical teacher, Greg Williams, for 3 years. After taking a one year break to focus on school he started working part time at Guitar Workshop apprenticing under owner Dave Lynch who taught him essential instrument repair and set up. He has been a technician at Guitar Workshop for almost 3 years. Steve plays bass in the heavy metal band Conducting from the Grave (Sumerian Records), and also serves as their guitar technician on the road. Steve is endorsed by Dunlop picks, strings, and MXR pedals.

Chris Salisbury - is a graduate of the Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery in Phoenix. He has an extensive background in woodworking and music. View Chris's samples»
